This garden in the historic market town of Richmond, North Yorkshire, lies in a conservation area on a steep slope below the castle. The garden features steps, stone paving, iron railings, a pond, planting and various levels. The design work involved securing planning permission.

This is a traditional herb garden, with stone flags, a bird bath and lavender hedges.

Below are examples of my recent work. In each case I have produced both the design and landscape work, including construction and planting.
The first three pictures show a garden built at 900ft above sea level in Upper Wensleydale, North Yorkshire Winter conditions can be very severe here. The work included a driveway built from reclaimed yorkstone flags, slate shale surfaces, a new lawn and planting. The plans for this garden are illustrated on my Sample Scale Plans page.

Here is a modern patio garden, with raised beds, the walls rendered and painted green, Indian stone flags, including a circle, and a water feature. This photograph was taken on completion. The planting in the raised beds is lush and will make a colourful display. This small garden belongs to a new house in Cumbria.
